When Morgan first emailed me to shoot her wedding, I was SO excited. Her fiancé is related to two awesome girls that I went to high school with, so I just knew that this wedding was going to be a special one. As time went on and Morgan updated me about the other vendors who were part of her wedding day, I was even more ready to start shooting this gorgeous wedding! Everything from the lovely light filled rental house that the girls got ready in, to the spectacularly decorated Charles Morris Center - was all so perfect for Morgan and Brian's wedding day.
One of my favorite things to photograph on a wedding day are all the little details that the bride or groom will be wearing on their wedding day. Morgan made sure that I had plenty of time to photograph all of these items on her wedding day and I was so thrilled to be able to set everything up without having to watch the clock as closely as I usually have to do. In the rental house they were staying in, there was a bed with a white quilt on it right next to a window that was letting in that gorgeous natural lighting, that I just LOVE. So shooting these details was pretty much making my heart so happy. I had everything that makes for great details shots - a neutral backdrop, lots of natural light, lovely paper goods and many of the special items that were used to complete Morgan's wedding day attire. Elizabeth asked me if I had ever shot anything at the Coastal Empire Fair before... And then when I thought back on it, I hadn't. Which is nuts! Then she asked if I would be willing to shoot her and Kevin's engagement shoot there. Without hesitation, I said "Of course! Let's do it!!".
If you love bright colors, watching a couple have a ton of fun and lovely afternoon light, then this engagement session is a perfect one for you to take a peek at!! Check it out below!! Sarah and Brett's wedding was at Grant Hill Farms, right outside Athens. I've known Sarah since we were little kids. She's always been someone you could turn to for a laugh or a jam out session with the Backstreet Boys and Aaron Carter (ohhh yess). I was honored when she reached out to ask me to shoot her wedding to Brett. I was excited to get out of Savannah for a few days and take in the fall colors in Athens.
The wedding was beautiful. Sarah wore a gorgeous Hayley Paige dress that she purchased from Ivory & Beau. The archway for the ceremony was full of greenery and roses and it made me smile ear to ear. A little less wind would have made it completely perfect... and I'm sure Sarah would agree with me about that. ;) Everyone had a blast during the reception. Everything from the food to the music was pretty amazing. All of the guests were out on the dance floor showing off their awesome dance moves. Even a little Aaron Carter "Aaron's Party" was thrown in there. It was a pretty magical evening if you ask me!! See for yourself by checking out the photos below!! THROWBACK THURSDAY!
So, these photos were taken in the spring of 2016... as stated by the balloons in some of the photos. I know that a year has gone by since I took these photos, but how could I not share them?! These girls were great and I was so happy that I was able to spend an afternoon with them in all their favorite places on Georgia Southern's campus. Scroll down to see more from this fun graduation shoot!! Sally and David are the sweetest, most kind people that you will ever meet. Ever since I took their engagement photos (where we laughed the entire afternoon away), I knew that these two had a love that was extremely special and oh so real. Their wedding day started at the Belle House in Statesboro, GA. Both the girls and the guys got ready in the same place, so David had to be tucked away for most of the morning. Once the girls were ready and Sally was dressed, I could finally get David out of his quarters and set him up for a little prayer with Sally and then the big reveal.
Before the ceremony, Sally and her bridesmaids joined to prayed over Sally. It was here that I fully realized how many lives Sally and David had truly touched both individually and as a couple. The ceremony space was FILLED to the brim with so many happy people, ready to witness these two become man and wife. Sally and David's wedding was not only emotional, but also filled with love and laughter. The reception was a blast and so many people got out on the dance floor to show off their moves. The room was full of music and dancing from the second we walked in till it was time for the exit. Scroll down to see more from Sally and David's beautiful wedding day!! Savannah at golden hour can be just simply magical. I love to start a shoot just about 2 hours right before sunset to ensure that I have the BEST light. It's golden, airy and oh so lovely... Also, Monterey Square is probably one of my favorite squares ever. I recently discovered that the monument that stands in the center has my birthday (the month and day) on it! So crazy! It's like it was meant to be.
Stephanie and Michael's engagement shoot was amazing. I got to shoot downtown and in Thunderbolt. It's always nice when couples want to take photos in a location that has some sort of meaning or a familial connection. It makes the shoot more special and personal. This shoot was so much fun. I loved meeting these two and getting to talk all about their wedding day. I think it shows in the photos how much Stephanie and Michael truly love and care for each other. Scroll down to see more from this gorgeous e-session! Summertime is right around the corner and I couldn't be more excited! The smell of sunscreen, going down to the beach and feeling the sand between my toes. I'm also hoping to work on finishing all my blogging from the 2016 season real soon! And here's the start to it!
The Muenckler's are one of my favorite families in Savannah! I was so happy when Libby asked me to take some family photos for them. Ellie and Dean have grown a little more since this shoot, but I REALLY wanted to get this session blogged, because it's one of my favorites!! Scroll down to see more from this fun Tybee session! |
