Elizabeth and Kevin's wedding at the Wyld Dock Bar was AMAZING. Elizabeth had so many details for me to shoot with that my heart was exploding with happiness. The location was perfect, the weather was spot on and the vows were sweet. Kevin even played & sang a song to Elizabeth (cue all the tears). I was so happy to be a part of Elizabeth and Kevin's big day. I met Elizabeth while we were both at Armstrong studying for our Fine Art degrees. I remember a lot of laughs and good times in printmaking with Elizabeth, which is another reason why I so excited to be a part of her wedding day. I knew that all the paper goods would spot on.
Scroll down to see more of this sweet wedding & couple! First of all, I'd like to thank Abbey and Zack for being so kind to me when I totally blanked on Zack's name
and started to call him Justin for about 10 minutes at the beginning of their engagement shoot. I have no idea where the name Justin came from, but they were both so incredibly sweet and laughed it off. I was completely embarrassed, but that's a typical day in the life of Marianne. haha. So anyway.... We walked around to some of our favorite spots in downtown Savannah including Monterey Square, Alex Raskin's Antique Shop, Forsyth Park and then Lafayette Square - where Abbey and Zack were planning on having their wedding the following January. The afternoon was so much fun, especially when Zack mentioned that he wanted some of their photos to look like an album cover. I tried my best to capture some album cover worthy photos. Not sure if I succeeded, but I definitely got a lot of really sweet shots of the two of them (a score in my book, that's for sure!!). Scroll down to see more from their gorgeous engagement shoot below! Hello everyone!!
I know that I have been a little MIA recently... There is a reason for it! I promise!! During the past two years, I have been completing the HARDEST thing I think I've ever signed up for - Nursing School! I graduated in December with honors (magna cum laude - whoop whoop!) and I accepted a position at a local hospital on their Mother/Baby unit. THEN I had to take the hardest test that I've ever had to study for - the dreaded NCLEX. There's so much anxiety and many sleepless nights that occur before you sit in front of your computer to take this licensing test. I was SO nervous and not really sure if I was 100% ready for what was about to happen. 75 questions later, I was done. However, the waiting game started. The anxiety remained while I wondered if passed or not... (and yes, I googled how likely it was for me to fail in 75 questions too.... Yikes!) That evening, the anxiety got the best of me and I had to do something so that I could finally get a full night of sleep. I tried what the nursing community calls the "PVT" trick. There are a ton of youtube videos explaining what this is, but it's basically a way to try to calm your nerves before the news becomes official on whether you passed or failed. I checked and I got "the good pop-up". And for the first time in about 3 days, I slept through the night!! The following morning I woke up to a voicemail from my HR recruiter from the hospital congratulating me on passing my NCLEX. There was instant tears of joy and a smile across my face. It was official. I am now official. So basically, now that nursing school is over and I've passed my boards, I will have more free time to devote to updating: my website / welcome kit magazine / pricing guide / BLOG. I'm SOOOOO excited to share with you all the amazing weddings that I shot last year!!! We are first starting with Casey and Harley's wedding, mostly because I'm a terrible blogger (who's trying to fix this bad habit) and I still haven't shared this GORGEOUS / FUN / AWESOME wedding yet. Casey and Harley's wedding was gorgeous and full of floral crowns (YES), a bridal gown with sleeves (DOUBLE YES) and a New Orleans style exit (HOLY COW YES). Fast forward a little more than a year, Casey and Harley are now the parents of the sweetest baby ever. I can't how much time has gone by since their amazing wedding day. So please, take your time this evening and scroll through this rockin' wedding at Ships of the Sea, with amazing florals provided by Wilson Designs Group, rentals from Amazing Event Rentals, the bride's dress from Ivory + Beau, wedding ending location at Congress Street Social Club, Music from Voodoo Soup and shout out to my second shooter Josh Morehouse. |
